Romney Won't Apologize for RomneyCare

The Hill is reporting that Romney appeared on Good Morning America and "won't apologize" for RomneyCare.

His point was that states have the right to institute such a plan, but that the Federal government doesn't. Even though he may be right from a Constitutional perspective, he's flat wrong from a Conservative perspective. Romneycare is wrong for the same reasons Obamacare is wrong -- the government needs to stay the hell out of our health care decisions. It doesn't matter a hill of beans to me which government is oppressing, mandating or dictating to me. Government intrusion is government intrusion.

Oh, and Mitt, I won't apologize for NOT supporting you or any other RINO in 2012.

MSNBC finally fired Keith Olbermann. Great news for journalism, for fairness, and for integrity. He was the biggest liar, slanderer, smear merchant and outright socialist on TV. He will not be missed -- except for the 3 Pelosi supporters who watched him.

O'Reilly is Dead Wrong About Carter

Bill O'Reilly had a story tonight about Jimmy Carter, concerning his recent heavy criticism of Fox News. To summarize his remarks, he said that he doesn't think Jimmy Carter is a "bad man", but just a misguided man.

Let me tell you why I think that's just dead wrong. Jimmy Carter is an Anti-semite. He sides with Jew haters from all over the world. His books excoriate the Jewish people, and the nation of Israel at every opportunity. In my book, that places him on the side of murderers and thugs, and against God's chosen people. By definition, that makes him not only a bad man, but a cursed man.

Do I think The Jews are without fault? No, of course not. Do I think Israel has made some mistakes? Of course it has. It remains however the only free and democratic society in the entire middle east, and the last best hope for sanity over barbarism in the region.

"I will bless them that bless thee, and I will curse them that curse thee. And in thee (Israel via Abraham) shall all the nations of the world be blessed." God said it -- I didn't.

Not only a bad man, not only a national disgrace, but under a curse from God.

Predictions

OK, there have been alot of predictions about the results of the mid-terms. Since Most of them seem to be pure speculation, rather than analysis of hard numbers, I now feel eminently qualified to pitch in my two cents as well:

House:
Republicans take the house with a 65 seat gain. Pelosi easily wins re-election in her socialist district, but must hand the gavel to John Boehner.

Senate: Dems barely hold on to the Senate with a 51 to 49 majority. Harry Reid is narrowly defeated in Nevada, and an even worse liberal is named Senate Majority leader.

Obama: Embittered and furious after a crushing defeat in the mid-terms, the President retreats even further into his leftist/progressive/socialist philosphy. After all, he's not a pragmatist like Clinton, but a true believer. Gridlock ensues (which for Congress and America is a very good thing). He is defeated in 2012 by the "candidate to be named later"......

November 3rd follow up:

OK, so I was dead wrong about Reid. Who knew Nevada voters were so brain dead? Some of the insanity from California must have drifted across the Sierra Nevada...

But, my House prediction was dead on. So, I'll take a mixed result.

American Chopper - When The Son Surpasses The Father

I know it's a little strange, but this post has nothing to do with politics.

I've been a fan of the show "American Chopper" for several years now. The bikes are beautiful, thanks in no small part to Paul Teutel Jr's design ideas and the skilled craftsmanship of Rick and other fabricators. The one thing I never liked about the show was the way Paul Sr. berated, ridiculed, yelled and screamed at his son, virtually non-stop.

I watched his little motorcycle shop transform into a world class state of the art facility. Not once did he ever give his son any credit for this transformation. He contented himself with sitting in his office, with his feet up bitching and complaining about Paul Jr. and his "arrogance". Things finally and inevitably blew up, and he fired his son some time ago.

Now with the new season, Paul Jr. is starting his own bike shop. After he made a deal with his father to get his 20% of the business bought out, his father cooked the books to make sure that the 20% equaled nothing. So, the son backed out. What was his father's reaction? Honesty? Giving his son what he rightfully owed him? No. He sued his own son.

Sr's relationship with his other son Mikey is not any better.

No matter how much money he makes, no matter how successful his business is, to me Paul Sr. is an abject failure. He's a man filled with hate and animosity, whose own family will have nothing to do with him. A man's true measure of success is the love and respect of his family. Without that, he's just another loud mouthed jerk destined to inhabit an unvisited grave.

Tonight's episode had a very true and revealing line. Paul Jr, after being ambushed by his father on a radio show, said that the difference between him and his father is that he wishes his father well, and his father wishes him evil. How true, and how sad. I'll continue to watch, if only in hopes that the son surpasses the father again.

If a father truly loves his son, his dearest wish is that his son goes on to bigger and better things than he ever could. In Paul Sr's case, the opposite is true. Any love in Paul Sr's heart has been hijacked by anger, fear, jealousy and hostility. What a pathetic excuse for a father.

A Remarkable Grasp Of The Obvious

"Obama is really a revolutionary. That doesn't mean he's looking to stir up violent trouble but I believe he is trying to transform both the American political system and economic system and America's relationship to the world. I also believe that he has decided that America must make its peace with Iran. I believe that he is a man who is highly intelligent, knows what he's doing and in spite of the fact that he has attracted liberal Jewish supporters, some with great wealth. His intention is to correct the historical mistake of the creation of the state of Israel.

Given Obama's background, the fact that his family was, on his father's side was Muslim, that his sister is a Muslim, that his half brother is a Muslim, there is no doubt that he heard a great deal about Islam and Israel from them before he took office and though he was not candid about it at first, he has by his decisions and his symbolic actions made it clear where his sympathies are.

I have nodoubt that he would not be unhappy to see the destruction of the State of Israel, as long as he can say that my hands have not shed this blood, which is a phrase from the Bibe.

In addition to that, he has a hostility towards Western Europe, especially to England as characterized by the symbolic action of returning the bust of Winston Churchill to the English, one of his first acts.

And he has made some interesting symbolic moves with, for example, bowing to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia since King Abdullah is the keeper of the two holiest shrines of Islam, Mecca and Medina, one wonders why he did this.

But when a head of state, which is what Obama is, makes a symbolic statement like that you know he is trying to convey a message, and it’s not one which we in western civilization are willing to accept.

Finally, he has talked of a nuclear-free Middle East and a nuclear-free world, and what he intends to do, of course, if he can, is to disarm Israel’s great equalizer. It has been able to defend itself against the far more numerous Arabs by virtue of the fact that it has nuclear weapons and Obama will, and he’s indicated he will apply every pressure to Israel to take that equalizer away from them.

So the way I see it, is that this man is a menace to Israel, to Western Europe, and I might add that Western Europe is beginning to have sanctions against Iran that are far greater and more effective than anything Obama was willing to tolerate, and to the whole of the Western World. He aims for a radical transformation, he is the most radical president that America has ever had."

Bibles Have "No Educational Benefit"???

In a remarkable act of stupidity, a Florida school district is banning the Bible on Religious Freedom Day. Their rationale? Bibles don't provide any educational benefit.

I cannot think of any single piece of literature that would provide more educational benefit than the Bible. Rich in archeological, geographical and historical facts, as well as some of the most profound moral teaching and philosophy ever penned.

How much you wanna bet that the person or persons behind this prohibition have muslim ties? Don't laugh.

A GREAT VICTORY FOR LIBERTY AND THE CONSTITUTION

In another great victory for Constitutional rights and liberty, the Supreme court today struck down Chicago's gun ban by siding with the plaintiff in McDonald vs Chicago.

Essentially the die was cast in DC vs. Heller -- the first time in a long time that the court had even addressed the 2nd Amendment. This decision affirms the same thing: The 2nd Amendment means what it says, and it DOES apply to the individual. Cities, municipalities and states have no more right to rescind this Constitutional right than they do freedom of speech, assembly or press.

Of course, the gun-grabbers will continue their nazi style gun-grabbing tactics, not based on any common sense argument or historical statistics, but purely on emotional grounds. Since they believe that it is the gun that causes the crime, and not the person holding it, they see guns as inherently evil, rather than a useful tool for defending oneself and others. As such, they must be banned, and the Constitution and founders be damned.

Thank God we still have a court with enough justices on board who disregard these lies and apply the Constitution first, rather than knee-jerk emotional reactionism.

Excellent Article - The Character Deficit

America is great, because America is good, and when America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great. That goes ESPECIALLY for the current occupant of the White House.

When the framers of the United States Constitution completed their work in 1787, they acknowledged that the success and future of the republic as established by that document was dependent on the honor and integrity of its leaders and citizens. As John Adams wrote: "Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

Today, the Obama administration, the majority of the members of Congress, much of the Judiciary, academia, and the media represent the culmination of the degradation of ethics and character, which has put the United States in the nearly inevitable position of joining the annals of the rise and fall of great nations.

The die was cast in the early part of the 20^th century, when Congress and the president discovered that they could bribe the public with the public's money. The focus of politics began to shift from public service and adherence to the Constitution to seeking, centralizing, and maintaining power, as well as amassing individual wealth.

The seizure and preservation of power was made possible by promising the American people economic security in exchange for their votes. Society and government thus began the long, steady process of compromising the age-old standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity, which are based on Judeo-Christian teachings.

Each step down that road was justified as a moral or societal imperative (such as re-defining a "right"), or else necessary to save people from themselves.

As government became more intrusive and centralized, the heady tonic of near-omnipotent authority and adulation moved many in politics to do or say anything necessary to preserve or achieve elected office.

In the field of education, it became a requisite to teach that there are no absolutes and no moral or ethical guidelines except to do whatever makes one "happy." Any problems simply create demand for new programs, which furthers the consolidation of authority in the hands of a few. Any mention of God was eliminated, as religious values undermine the process of corrupting and re-making society.

The mainstream media, once the watchdog of government wrongdoing, has been captured by ideology, lifestyle, and the need for celebrity status. Thus, to the vast majority in that profession, it is more important to be in the thrall of whatever is fashionable as established by the media elites than uphold the traditions of honest newsgathering.

To all these groups, truth and facts have become casualties replaced by outright lies or obfuscations euphemistically referred to as "spin." This gradual degradation of integrity and ethical standards has allowed for the acceptance of a philosophy espoused by despots throughout history, one that forms the underpinning of the character of President Obama, his administration, a majority in Congress, and an unfortunate plurality among the general public.

The doctrine of "the end justifies the means" represents the epitome of corruption in any society and the ultimate demise of that same society. Any leader within government or the national community at large who is captive to this thinking must by necessity be devoid of ethics, integrity, or morals.

Such people must be willing, as was President Obama, to lie to achieve their ends, like with the deliberate falsehoods, obfuscations, and manipulation of data that took place during the passage of health care and other legislation.

They must be willing to flout the rule of law and the Constitution, as President Obama did, in the takeover of General Motors, Chrysler, the banks, insurance companies, and the appointment of numerous "czars" in avoidance of Congressional approval.

They must be willing to use the power of the government, as the president has done, to threaten, blackmail, and intimidate political and media critics, and to shake down private enterprise for support and financial contributions.

They must be willing through inconceivable but deliberate levels of deficit spending to place the country on a collision course with national bankruptcy, as President Obama is doing, in order to advance a radical agenda the citizens do not want or need.

Recently, much has been made of the lack of leadership displayed by the president. Many point to his inexperience in executive management. However, as former President Dwight Eisenhower once said, "The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity." The current occupant of the White House is bereft of that quality.

A national leader without honor and integrity cannot be trusted; he cannot act in the best interest of others, but only of himself. He is captive to ideology and incapable of change as he surrounds himself with sycophantic philosophical soul mates. He cannot abide criticism, constructive or otherwise, as he will always view it through the lens of personal insecurity, thus truth for him becomes a casualty of unrestrained narcissism. He cannot assume responsibility for failure and must look for others to blame. Regardless of whether a person has had executive experience or not, without honor and integrity as the foundation of his character, failure and further erosion of the future of the country will follow in his footsteps.

The United States is staring into an abyss unimagined fifteen, twenty-five or fifty years ago. The possibility that the country as it was founded 225 years ago will cease to exist is no longer the subject of fiction writers. The people of this great nation must understand that they cannot turn to the White House, Congress, academia, or the courts for solutions, as these traditional sources of leadership are not only incapable of providing it, but are the catalyst for the country's potential demise.

The survival of the Republic is in the hands of the citizens. Their understanding of the future and the steps necessary to avoid disaster is critical. They must not only elect representatives with integrity and character, but recognize the importance of those traits in their own lives and in society as a whole. If they don't, then the United States will become a permanently indentured and second-tier country.

John Brennan - An Idiot With No Concept of The Real World

John Brennan is President Obama's Assistant for Homeland Security and Counter terrorism.

I do not use that word lightly. In this case it completely fits.

In a speech today, he actually stated the following drivel:

"We do not use the word terrorism, because terrorism is a tactic."

"We do not use the word terror, because terrorism is a state of mind"

"We do not use the word Islamists or Jihad, because Jihad is a holy struggle, and legitimate to the teachings of Islam."

Or something to that effect. Forgive me if it's not an exact quote but I felt the compelling urge to jot this down while the idiocy was still fresh in my mind.

John, I don't know where to begin with this lunacy. But here goes. First, 'terrorism' is indeed a tactic. So what? Is it impossible to declare war on a tactic or practice? No. Besides, what's the tactic? To wage terroristic acts against the unbelievers to punish them for Allah.

Second, 'terror' has many definitions, one of which is a 'state of mind'. Is anyone really that confused that they would not know the context in which it's intended? Gee John, you're so smart. I wish us plain old rabble were as smart as you and the brilliant folks in the White House.

Third, these terrorists are indeed and in fact Islamists. They are also Jihadists. They have declared Jihad against the west, against infidels, against Jews, and pretty much against anyone who will not willingly submit to the will of "Allah". They call themselves "Islamic Jihad" and lots of other names that not only identify themselves as Islamists, but Jihadists too. You are an idiot John. Wishing something were not true - wishing Islam were indeed a peaceful and wonderful religion - does not make it true.

My God, the staggeringly blind political correctness of this Administration is placing our Nation and our way of life in dire jeopardy. Let's throw these bums out as soon as we can before there is nothing left to rebuild.

Empty Headed Nonsense

I must admit that I'm growing increasingly frustrated with Network News -- even Fox News. Most of what passes for debate is just a bunch of empty-headed nonsense.

"Liberals are wrong!", cries Hannity. Left-wing idiot Bob Beckel counters "Oh, yeah, it's those damn Republicans who are wrong!"

On and on it goes. No discussion of the heart of the matter. No analysis of what the Constitution actually says, why it's significant, and how it affects us today. Just a bunch of talking heads. The fact that on Fox there are at least a little more conservative talking heads than other networks does not change the fact that most of it is unprofitable time fill.

Case in point: That wonderfully ignorant dunderhead Bob Beckel pontificated tonight that "religion should stay out of the schools" and has no place there. He went on to say the Constitution provides 'separation of Church and State'. Hannity countered with something along the lines of 'how did our nation survive for all those years with prayer and bible classes in public schools then?'

None of this gets to the heart. Here's the heart. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Constitution does NOT set up 'separation of church and State'. It sets up separation of CONGRESS from the peoples right to exercise their faith whenever and wherever they want to. The Amendment reads as follows:

"Congress shall make no law regarding an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

It's quite simple Sean. It's quite simple Bob. It's a restriction on CONGRESS -- NOT the people.

But do we get that point made at all? No. Just a shouting match. I am often amazed that these people have such high paying and publicly visible jobs. Is this the best that news can do?

There are some exceptions of course. John Stossel is always excellent. Charles Krauthammer is one of the most incisive and accurate political commentators on the planet. How about more of this type of excellent analysis, and less of the talking dunderheads?

The Flood You Never Heard About

What a difference a city makes. No national news media falling all over themselves to blame the government, to cry out "these people need help". No Sean Penn boating around and calling the government response a shame and a scandal. No loud-mouth demands of "where da gummint at?" No looting, no pillaging, no chaos.

Why? My opinion is that they are the wrong color. The national media and the liberal left have slowly, carefully built a narrative over the last several decades. They have built up a dependency cycle among various groups, the most shameful being among the black community. We are supposed to believe that black people are helpless. Sadly, many in the black community actually buy into this, and are the first to cry for help when something goes wrong.

Not Nashville. These are proud, self-reliant, hardworking and law-abiding types. No begging the government for help, no whining and complaining. They are simply rolling up their sleeves, and getting to work cleaning up the mess.

Oh and by the way, the financial losses in Tennessee FAR outweigh the economic losses in New Orleans. And the death toll is terrible too.

So What Do We Have Against Obama?

Yes, I am opposed to Obama and the left. Yes, I disagree with nearly everything he has done as President. Yes, I believe history will reflect him as a man truly in over his head, ill equipped, with a warped and twisted sense of American history -- perhaps the worst President in the last 100 years.

If you visit this or other sites like it, you already know this.

So, I think what's needed is to explain WHY myself and so many others in the blogosphere are so opposed to this man. I want to do so in a dispassionate manner -- without any screaming or hollering. I want to appeal to common sense, to logic, to precedent, and to American history and doctrine. In this way, I hope to leave him and his supporters without that one crutch they always fall back on: that it's merely our opinion, that we are misinformed, and that they are simply more enlightened than we are.

This will be a piece that will probably take several weeks to articulate, and I'll probably only add bits at a time to the running narrative. The subject is complex, and there is alot of ground to cover.

For starters though, let me start with my main reason for opposition. Capitalism. Capitalism, the free buying and selling of products, and the free profit and loss in the market, is the CHIEF reason why the west has prospered and advanced in the last 200 years. Any reasonable person would admit this. Capitalism has it's flaws, to be sure. To coin a phrase from the founders, "it's the worst possible system -- except for all the others". There are winners and losers in a capitalistic system. There is risk, but there is also reward. To remove the possibility of failure in this system is also to remove the possibility of success. So it is in life as well.

In a nutshell, the current President sees this system, which is responsible for the highest standard of living, peace and prosperity the world has ever known, as evil, corrupt and exploitative. From a strictly FACTUAL standpoint, he is simply wrong. Being wrong about such very basic concepts can be a dangerous thing, but can prove disastrous if it happens to a leader.

The Left's Unbearable Darkness of Being

When I was 36, I was diagnosed with a chronic health condition. I still remember something that the doctor said to me: "It's so unfair that you've gotten this at your age."

I know that the physician was trying to be empathic. But her words had the opposite effect.

Not only did I have to adjust to a medical problem, but I also had to feel like a loser for getting sick in the first place.

Fortunately, I was studying Buddhism at the time, with its central teaching that suffering is inevitable. Rather than feeling cursed, I was helped to understand that heartache is part of life.

Now that I'm a conservative, and religious to boot, my belief about sorrow has expanded. I view my life as not just mine, but as part of a larger tapestry stitched together by the Divine.

As a mere mortal, I'm not in a position to know what life is doing to me or where it is leading me. A life devoted to God involves trying to accept His will, even when circumstances are heartbreaking.

This idea of surrender is anathema to a liberal nation, where crusades are launched for "economic and social justice." Say to an aggrieved group member, "Maybe you have something to learn from your experience," and observe the shocked, offended, and possibly violent response.

One of the most noxious ramifications of liberalism is that suffering is now viewed as wrong, even shameful. Thus, people try to rid themselves of unhappiness by dumping it on others.

Young, innocent blacks turn militant by the constant reminders of slavery. Gays living quiet lives are radicalized into firebrands railing about unfairness.

But these constant demands and complaints will not ultimately lead anywhere. Although life is replete with blessings, there are formidable bumps along the way.

My clients are astonished when I tell them that life is not supposed to be easy, and that we carve out our characters and our souls from the hard times.

Further, suffering is the great uniter: It has the potential to connect us to people all over the world. Pain reminds us that everyone is, at times, pierced by grief, loneliness, and sorrow.

One of the greatest tragedies of progressivism is that it robs citizens of the dignity of suffering. People become convinced that the vicissitudes of a human life are their own private misery.

More than this, people are kept far away from the mercy of God, the central Source of love and succor. And many on the Left are not just alienated from God. They abhor life so much that they despise God.

This is one of the saddest -- and most fearsome -- aspects of Obama and the Left. Leftists are raging not just at capitalism and racism -- but at God Himself and the world He created.

The progressives have no understanding of the way this human realm works. By fighting reality, they create for themselves a hell on earth.

And they are trying to produce a hell for all of us as well. They are attempting to bring us down, down, down with them, into the same black hole.

Obama and the Left inhabit an Unbearable Darkness of Being, where they strike out wildly, frenetically, at everyone and everything. Their assaults are like the flailing of a small child, trapped in a universe big and vast and daunting, with no possible way out.

Why does the left mischaracterize the Tea Party's goals? Why do they insist that the Tea Party wants their taxes lowered, and then counter that under Obama's tax plan, they should be happy?

Well, because they need to ignore the real demands. The real demands are for SCRAPPING our currently unfair, progressive, penalizing, economy killing TAX CODE.

Although I don't consider myself a Tea Partier per se, I agree that the tax CODE is the problem - not the tax rates. This current code is so convoluted and complex that it makes it virtually impossible to decipher and comply with it - especially if you own a business. It robs from the rich and gives to the poor - Robin Hood in legalese. Our founders would be outraged.

The whole Dem machine is geared to wealth redistribution and "social justice". Scrapping the tax code would eliminate that. Or, put more simply, a fair tax would be American in the best sense of the word, while the current code is socialist and un-American. No wonder the dems want to divert attention.

After my first Christmas mass, I felt strange for days. As hard as I tried, I couldn't put my finger on why.

A week later, it dawned on me -- I felt peaceful. Aha! No wonder I was stumped!

I'm intimately familiar with anger and sadness and frustration -- intermixed with those fleeting moments of joy. But peace? That's not a state hardwired into my Berkeley edge.

I liked the feeling though...a lot. I was breathing deeper and sleeping better. After it dissolved in another week or so, I wanted more of that peaceful, easy feeling.

Trying to ignore the doleful expression of my secular mate, I headed out to a few more lovely services -- at a synagogue, a Lutheran church, and, my personal favorite, Assemblies of God (as a perk, Sarah Palin's church of choice).

While perusing the Yellow Pages, I eyed another contender -- a church in a nearby town that touted superb music and a dynamic congregation.

When I called to find out more, I was pleased that the minister himself answered the phone. When I asked him to describe his church, he answered rather sternly, "We do God's work through social justice."

Taken aback, I said, "I'm looking for a church that focuses on God, not politics."

He countered vociferously, "We get to God through social justice!"

"That's a matter of dispute," I responded. "Thank you for your time." Click.

When I got off the phone, I was shaken up -- literally. My entire body was shaking.

It was partly the creepiness of a minister sounding so possessed. But more than this: I got a bird's-eye view of what Glenn Beck has been talking about for weeks.

Beck has revealed that churches are increasingly becoming socialist breeding grounds. It's not just the Rev. Wright who preached revolution. The president's new Palm Pilot minister, Jim Wallis, trumpets getting to heaven through redistribution.

It's bad enough that the radicals want our children, our newspapers, our money, and our health care. But hijacking God?

The Left tried first to separate people from God. They banished Him from schools and government; they ridiculed and mocked believers.

Their efforts having failed miserably (about 80% of all Americans still identity as Christian), so they turn to plan B: Contaminate the Word of God.

The Left has had many incarnations. The latest is masquerading as holy men, with the holiest, of course, being Obama.

At least the '60s radicals were transparent about their true colors. The Weathermen, the Symbionese Liberation Army, and the Black Panthers never held themselves out as Messiahs. They were right in your face with their terrorism, murders, and rapes.

Obama role model Saul Alinsky announced to the whole world which master the Left serves. Here's his dedication in Rules for Radicals:

Lest we forget at least an over-the shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical ... the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom -- Lucifer.

More insidious is the new crop of leftists. Wearing the cloak of respectability, they trick the masses through flowery words about hope and change.

But those of us who recognize Light also know the chill of darkness. The Left is nocturnal. Its followers live and breathe in the dark.

To me, God is about surrender, not power; humility, not humiliation.

A life of the spirit means relinquishing control to God. Humans can't second-guess divine wisdom.

The Left views hardship as unfair and launches crusades for social justice. But there's another way to regard suffering -- as holy. Through pain, we solidify our relationship to our Creator.

I think that the progressives know, deep inside, in places they keep well-hidden, that their souls are damaged.

Their movement is not really about redistribution, or social justice, or green power. It's about extinguishing the Light that exposes their brokenness.

And that's why the Left targets the bright-eyed people -- the children and the pious. In them, the Light is luminous.

I've seen that Light in spades at some of those religious services. On Easter, in a crime-ravaged area, I sat with over a thousand people of every race and creed.

I saw sights that astonished me, like a distraught white woman being cradled by a black woman adorned in brilliant African garb. Or several men of varying races and ages embracing each other, praying together.

I saw a laying-on of hands among people of every possible color, who were tending to each other, caring for each other. I'd never before seen the power of God in all its vibrancy.

A better world can exist -- I know because I've witnessed it. Unity is possible, but only with God as the middleman.

But the religious Left don't want to minister to people with love and kindness. Instead, they're trying to recreate Jesus in their own image.

But, try as they might, they can't bulldoze their way into heaven. By even making the effort, they serve another master entirely.

A Turn For the Worse Richard N. Weltz

Israel's outlook took a turn for the worse in January 2009, when Barack Obama was inaugurated as this country's 44th president -- a situation made sharply ironic given the fact that some 74% of America's Jewish voters helped elect the man.

America, long both a closely friendly ally and a protector of the Jewish State, has drastically changed that role. The president has actively sought to make Israel the goat of his touchy-feely approach to the Middle East, Islam, and Iran -- none of which has worked. He has reneged on agreements made with prior administrations, including rescinding the planned and agreed-to sale of bunker-buster bombs to Israel.

More recently, Obama has bullied, humiliated, and deliberately mistreated Israel's head of government, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Although it was looking as though things couldn't get much worse, they just did make another turn in that direction.

Obama made some remarks at a press conference Tuesday which, as reported by the New York Times, imply that Israel is somehow to blame for deaths of American troops and that its intransigence in capitulating to Palestinian demands poses a security threat to America.

Mr. Obama said conflicts like the one in the Middle East ended up "costing us significantly in terms of both blood and treasure" - drawing an explicit link between the Israeli-Palestinian strife and the safety of American soldiers as they battle Islamic extremism and terrorism in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.

"This shift," said the Times, "increases the likelihood that Mr. Obama, frustrated by the inability of the Israelis and the Palestinians to come to terms, will offer his own proposed parameters for an eventual Palestinian state."

The Obama strategy becomes clear: turn world opinion against Israel as the cause of ME strife, and then use that as an excuse to force an Obama-designed "solution" on the Jewish State.

The situation is so dire that Ronald Lauder, an outstanding Israel supporter and president of the World Jewish Congress has taken a full-page ad in today's editions of the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal in the form of an open letter to Obama pleading with him to desist from his disastrous course.

This time, reasonable Jewish and non-Jewish supporters of Israel can't say they didn't see the handwriting on the wall -- to which they were blind at the 2008 election.

Romney wins SRLC Straw Poll - The Elephant Is Still Clueless

Mitt Romney won the Southern Republican Leadership Conference straw poll by one vote over Ron Paul.

This tells me a lot about the state of Republican politics in 2010. We've been told over the last year or so that the Republicans want to come out of the wilderness. We're told that they learned their lesson from the American people and want to get back to being Conservative, not just in name only, but in practice. We're told that they admit they were guilty of some of the same things that Dems are guilty of, and that they are promising a new wave of political responsibility.

To a certain extent, I believe that. But the widespread popularity of Romney, to me, is an indication that Republicans still haven't figured out what real conservatives actually are griping about.

Romney can dance around the subject all he wants, but Romney Care and Obamacare are essentially the same thing, just on a different scale. Romney Care is perhaps one of the foulest things ever signed into law by a Republican. It's bankrupted Massachusetts, and is fast on it's way to totally ruining their health care system. Obamacare promises to do the same thing on a national level. Both are poison. Both are ill-conceived. Both promise things that they cannot deliver. Both are a massive power grab by government, in areas that ought to remain private.

The fact that Romney still defends his socialized medicine fiasco in Massachusetts, rather than abjectly apologizing for it, proves that he still doesn't get it. The fact that he wins a straw poll means that many in the Republican leadership still don't get it either.

A Lie That's Getting Very Old and Tired

One of Obama's "advisors" again, this time on Obama's network of record, MSNBC, talking to the liberal shill host:

Here's a quote: "Social justice and health care are at the heart of the gospel". That is a total LIE. The gospel has nothing to do with either issue.

The gospel means good news. What is the good news? Jesus came to earth and took the sin of the world upon himself, and died in our place. He was buried, and rose again, proof that the debt was paid, and that God was satisfied with the payment. Period. No more, no less. That's the good news.

Socialism and progressivism are not related to the gospel in any way shape or form. In fact, if you want to know the attitude of the Aposles to the idea of handing out something to someone who doesn't work, by taking it from someone who does, how about this quote from Corinthians: "If a man does not work, neither should he eat".

Does this mean that Jesus was not concerned with the plight of the poor? Of course not. He was interested in justice, and in caring for the sick -- but not by GOVERNMENT, but rather, by the INDIVIDUAL. This is the major point upon which the progressive left goes off the rails on the subject of Christianity. Jesus was interested in personal morality, and never spoke to the subject of corporate morality. He knew that government was ill-equipped to be a dispenser of his teachings. As he put it, "My kingdom is not of this world".

This kind of confusion and misinterpretation is to be expected however. Having never known Christ, those on the left are in a pretty poor position to determine what he means.

I disagree with John Lewis (Democrat, Georgia) politically but I have always respected him as a genuine civil rights warrior. And I feel slightly queasy at the thought that he would dishonor both the movement and his own part in it for the cheapest of partisan points – in the same way I would be disgusted by a Holocaust survivor painting a swastika on his own door and blaming it on his next-door neighbor over a boundary dispute.
But that’s what the Democratic Party has been reduced to – faking hate crimes as pathetically as any lonely, mentally ill college student. Congressmen Carson, Lewis, Cleaver and the rest have turned themselves into the Congressional equivalent of the Duke University stripper. Except that they’re not some penniless loser but a group of important, influential lifetime legislators enjoying all the privileges and perquisites of power, and in all probability acting at the behest of the Democrat leadership.

Is "Does It Work" The Only Requirement?

I'm out of town this week working in Boston. I know. Enemy territory, right? Maybe not so much, considering that Ted Kennedy's old seat is now occupied by a Republican.

When I'm on business, I try to avoid discussing my political views as much as possible -- particularly when I'm in a bastion of liberal thought like Boston.

One of the people I'm working with did bring up the subject of Obamacare however. When he and others asked for my opinion, I didn't really get into the myriad reasons why I believe this is one of the worst things that's happened to America in the last several decades. Too severe for my audience. Instead, I simply said that my only objection was that it's unconstitutional.

The reaction was surprising. They didn't even argue the constitutionality. Their basic response was something along the lines of "who cares, as long as it works?"

Is that the requirement? Have we sunk so far as a nation? Have we lost so much knowledge of what this country means, why it was founded, and the revolutionary idea of the rule of law, that we don't even raise an eyebrow when the Constitution is trashed?

Obamacare, I believe, will prove to be one of the worst ideas in decades. As bad as it will be however, it will pale in comparison to the disaster of an uninformed and apathetic populace who could care less that the founding principles of our nation are being systematically dismantled.

There's an excellent article in American Thinker today on how Obama has been disrespecting our allies and awarding our enemies. The one nation that has taken the most heat is of course, Israel, the only free country in the entire middle east, and the only real friend we have in the region.

Treating our allies in Copenhagen with an imperiousness that borders on megalomania? Stiffing the Poles and Czechs over missile defense?

I'm not making any of this up. And to ignore the pattern of behavior of this administration as they treat our allies in this way while speaking kindly, and gently to Iran, Venezuela, Syria and other leftist thugs in the world, abandoning the promotion of democracy and human rights - the question asks itself; will we have any allies left by the time Obama leaves office?

My answer Rick? Yes and no. We have some allies who are patient enough to understand that this President is so far out of the mainstream way of American thinking, that they are willing to wait for a new President in 2012 for relations to improve. With others, the damage may be much more extensive and even possibly irreversible.

I hate to throw around the phrase "worst President ever" in a willy-nilly fashion. But, if I were to rate this man based on what he's done SO FAR, I would call him that without hesitation. God help the United States of America.

The media claimed that members of the Congressional Black Caucus were called n*ggers and spat on by tea party protesters as they walked from the Longworth office building to the Rayburn office building. At least one report said that it was “a chorus” of racist hatred. Reporters from ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX News, (including Bill O’Reilly), MSNBC, etc. reported on this horrible story.

Unfortunately, it was a fake. They had no evidence… Nothing. It was totally made up.

In fact, a video was later released that proved that there was no “chorus” of racist hatred and no one screamed the n-word. It was all a lie.

Several people filmed the entire episode and could not find any evidence of racist hate.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) even filmed the entire episode.

He found nothing.

Yesterday, new video was released that confirms the spitting incident was bogus, too.

There’s some higher resolution video below I hadn’t seen before. Unlike what was claimed during recent Tea Party protests in Washington, DC, it would appear Cleaver was simply walking close by in front of a protester. The protester’s hands were cupped as he was shouting. While it appears Cleaver may have experienced a spraying of sorts as a result of the yelling, it does not support a conclusion that he was intentionally spat upon, as claimed.

It was just another liberal lie.

According to the Left-Wing McClatchy Newspaper “reporter” William Douglas in an article on Saturday; Tea Partiers repeatedly screamed the N-word at John Lewis (D-GA) as he crossed over to the Capitol on his way to vote for Obamacare.

WASHINGTON — Demonstrators outside the U.S. Capitol , angry over the proposed health care bill, shouted “nigger” Saturday at U.S. Rep. John Lewis , a Georgia congressman and civil rights icon who was nearly beaten to death during an Alabama march in the 1960s.

Unfortunately for William Douglas, the incident was caught on video, conclusively proving otherwise.

Let’s be blunt; John Lewis is a liar. He claimed the N-word was “shouted” over and over at him and yet no camera among the many there has caught anything of the sort. In other words, there is no doubt about it; he was and is lying straight through his teeth. As so is McClatchy’s William Douglas who filed the story, no doubt knowing full-well that it was false.

This is nothing but Standard Democrat Operating Procedure; shrieking accusations of racism, knowing they would be uncritically echoed by masquerading partisan operatives in the media like William Douglas, is as integral to Democrat politics as funneling taxpayer money to public employee unions for them to kickback into their campaign war chests. There has not been a single competitive election, legislative battle or even debate on the issues in the past four decades that Democrats have parachuted charges of racism and “hate.”

It is what Democrats use as shorthand for “I disagree”; it’s what they call their kids when they don’t do their homework. How does anyone think it became racist for one to be pro-life, or pro-school vouchers when the vast majority of black parents support school choice?

Worse is that Republicans everywhere start falling all over themselves to apologize for nothing giving credence to clearly false accusations and end up stripping their arguments of their most salient and effective points to avoid “offending” people who are faking it in the first place.

The fact that Lewis is a Civil Rights icon doesn’t change the fact that he has since become a party-hack Democrat and doesn’t make him any less likely to be a liar. I mean, doesn’t it strike anyone as odd the very fact that the Tea Partiers couldn’t find any other black Democrat to yell racial slurs at except *John Lewis*?

Note to all Republican and Conservative spokesmen; if you’re on TV or Radio and anyone brings this up, this is the only response; Lewis is lying. Simple, straight and to the point. If anyone even begins to hint that opposition to Obamacare is based on the color of Barack Obama’s skin, loudly and clearly denounce them and call them out-and-out liars without hesitation or apology.

Give no quarter. We’re going to have a hard enough time repealing this without having to defend against bogus charges of hate and prejudice by hate-filled and prejudiced people.

I'd add Sheila Jackson Lee and a slew of others to the liar list as well. Well said, RedState.

What's this crap going on in Congress really all about? Why the protesters? Why does Congress have an all-time low approval rating? What would cause everyday average citizens, who have never protested anything, to travel to DC, hold up signs, shout "kill the bill", etc? Why the anger?

In a nutshell:

People who work hard and play by the rules are damn sick and tired of paying for people who don't. Period. That's something that most of the political pundits miss.

It will be made perfectly clear in a little more than 7 months.

Yes, You read the title correctly.

How many times in the last few years have we had to put up with idiots? You know the ones. The so-called Republicans who didn't like the way Republicans were conducting themselves in Congress, the ones who hated John McCain for being too liberal, the ones who criticized Bush morning noon and night, etc. Most of these complaints were legitimate, and I agree that Republicans went off course.

But these idiots went one step further. Let's "teach the Republicans a lesson", they said. Let's "send a message".

Well geniuses, you sure did. Do you know what message you sent? You allowed socialists and progressives to take such a huge majority in Congress that they can pass virtually anything - no matter how socialistic or radical it is.

I want to place a gift at your feet, Republican "message senders". Yeah you -- the ones who stayed home on election night in 2008. Here's the gift: socialized medicine. Congratulations. This is the multi-trillion dollar budget busting, liberty removing, government takeover you wanted.

Mr. Stupak, I'm Not Laughing Anymore

So, surprise, surprise. Looks like nearly the entire so-called "pro-life" democratic bloc, led by Rep. Bart Stupak, has caved in to Obama, citing his promise of an "executive order" reaffirming a ban on federal abortion funding. Yeah, right. An empty piece of paper, instead of a codified ban under law?

Mr. Stupak, I was laughing at you earlier this week. According to your remarks, you seemed surprised that the dems would not insert the pro-life language in the bill.

I'm not laughing anymore. Turns out you didn't mean a damn thing you said. You just sold out the unborn by voting for a bill that WILL result in federal funding of abortion. You're not pro-life after all.

Hate to break this to you Bart, but you better get used to the blood of innocents being on your hands too. It's simple Bart - belief influences actions. No actions means no beliefs. You had me goin there Bart. I thought, for the first time in years, that I might be witnessing a democrat with an actual conscience. Turns out you're just another dem. What a disgrace.

UPDATE: 3/22/10 @ 10:40 AM -- So myself and a few colleagues here in my office have been discussing Stupak this morning. Their contention was that Pelosi is the primary culprit. My contention was that Stupak is worse than Pelosi. Why? She's not a hypocrite. She's a socialist progressive liberal, and makes no bones about it. She's the Dr. Mengele of the Abortion issue, and makes no excuses for her pro-death position. She is what she is. Stupak on the other hand, as late as two days ago, said there was no way he could vote for the Senate Bill with the current abortion language. Liar. The hypocrisy and dishonesty here staggers the imagination.

What America Knows - And Obama Doesn't

Gallup is reporting that support for Israel is now near an all-time high among the American people. This, despite the fact that the Obama administration is doing everything in it's power to undermine, insult, provoke, denigrate and bully them.

It seems that no matter what the issue is, there is a fundamental disconnect between this administration's policies and the will of the American people. This is just the latest glaring example.

What I wouldn't give to see a President stand up and state unequivocally: "We stand with Israel, and against her enemies. We stand for truth, not lies. We stand for the rule of law, not lawless thuggery. We stand for a historical people with God's covenant upon them - not for a make believe people devised by a terrorist. We make it clear that Israel, being the only free country in the entire middle east, will always be a friend to the United States. We humbly acknowledge the sacred admonition of "I will bless them that bless thee [Israel] and I will curse them that curse thee. And in thee, shall all the nations of the world be blessed."

Our foreign policy, regardless of which President is sitting in the white house, has for too long been based on expedience instead of truth. It is time to change that. Not only will that change never come from the current majority in Washington, it's not likely to come from those who will take their place. Where is a politician with a full set of 'em? Where is a man who will stand up and tell the truth? The American people know the truth. It time they DEMANDED the truth from their leaders. A good start would be to throw every incumbent out of Washington in November. Wipe the slate clean. Start over. Let them know, in no uncertain terms, that this is a government of the people, by the people and for the people.

I truly fear for our nation. Once we start down this Israel bashing road, we have just accelerated our demise.

Bart Stupak Makes Me Laugh

Congressman Bart Stupak has provided me today with some much needed comic relief. He moans to National Review that "they're ignoring me. That’s their strategy now. The House Democratic leaders think they have the votes to pass the Senate’s health-care bill without us. At this point, there is no doubt that they’ve been able to peel off one or two of my twelve. And even if they don’t have the votes, it’s been made clear to us that they won’t insert our language on the abortion issue.”

Mr. Stupak, after I get myself up off the floor after my laughing jag, I'll give you a little piece of advice. Don't join a crew of pirates if you don't want to sail the seas, rape, loot and pillage, and say "aarrrrrghh!" at the top of your lungs.

Just what did you expect, Bart? You're a member of a morally bankrupt party. This party's moral compass was broken over 40 years ago, sir! You're just now noticing?

If you're pro-life, then I congratulate you. But please don't bitch when Pelosi ignores you. She's the Dr. Mengele of the Abortion crowd for pete's sake. There is not now, nor has there been in decades, a meaningful pro-life coalition in the democratic party. Wake up and smell the coffee Bart. If you are sincere in your belief that life begins at conception, then here's a simple thing to prove it: Go to the podium, drop your party affiliation, and join the pro-life conservative caucus.

Although you will be a little late to the party, I'm sure they'll forgive you.

How sad, and how true. Our political process is completely broken if the best that Republicans can do is John McCain and the best the dems can do is Obama. Really, America? That's you're learned opinion?

It's becoming abundantly clear, even to former Obama supporters, that this guy is in way over his head. An oily-tongued charismatic Chicago street hustler does not a good President make.

America's cure is not to defeat Obama, or to defeat the dems. America's cure is to take a good hard look at itself. Where is our moral compass? Where is our integrity? Do we even know right from wrong anymore? Do we even understand the principles upon which this country was founded?

Over the least several election cycles, there have been many attempts to seek high office by people who would actually be good at it. These people were soundly crushed. Alot of people blame it on the political process, or on campaign finance, on special interest groups or any number of other issues. The real culprit is that a huge portion of the American electorate does not want to hear the harsh truth. The next time a political candidate states the unvarnished truth, watch how fast the media attacks him, and the American people abandon him.

Eric Holder got into a bit of trouble for saying a while back that America is a 'nation of cowards' for not dealing with racism properly. While I think that's an absolute lie, and a distortion of history, I do agree with Holder in one respect: Americans have shown 'cowardice'. They've done it in the voting booth, time and time again.

Yes, America can survive Obama, and the foolish electorate's collective insanity that got him elected. But how many more bouts of American foolishness can we endure?

A simple, true and famous quote from de Tocqueville is apropos here: "America is great because America is good. And when America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."

Beating a Dead Horse

Obama's approval index is now at an all-time low according to Rasmussen. There is now a spread of 21% more people who strongly disapprove of him than strongly approve.

This is getting into George W. Bush territory during the darkest time of the Iraq war.

It's easily reversible, of course. Scrap the health care takeover bill, start from scratch, and apologize to the American people for trying to cram a bill down their throats that they don't want.

Will it happen? Of course not. He's committed, and the American people be damned. He'll beat this dead horse so hard that he will eventually get it across the finish line. My one comfort is that it will be at great political cost. 1 term president for sure.

When will politicians get it? Their job is not to pass their agenda -- particularly not over the vehement objections of the people. Their job is to represent and lead the American people, within the bounds of the Constitution. Period.

Don't Let Obama's Anti-gun Silence Breed Complacency

What should we make of a recent editorial arguing that the Obama White House has made no attempt to infringe upon the Second Amendment and that Obama openly declared his respect for the right to bear arms during his presidential campaign?

It's true that President Obama hasn't advanced the gun control agenda. He hasn't even sought a renewed ban on "assault" weapons. However, the idea that President Obama has more in common with Wayne LaPierre than with Sarah Brady is misleading. Remember the "bitter clingers" comment? Therefore, if eternal vigilance is freedom's price, then complacency must be its worst enemy. The Second Amendment is under assault even as the Supreme Court seems poised to recognize the individual right it protects.

Rep. Bobby Rush's Firearms Licensing and Record of Sale Act (H.R. 45) would require a license to possess a firearm. That license would also be required to transfer a firearm, and a tracking number would be assigned to each sale. Most ominous is H.R. 45's prohibition on storing firearms and ammunition in any manner that a child could access.

Rep. Rush's bill assaults the basic notion of a right. Free people need no government license to exercise a right. This bill would also create de facto gun registration and render firearms inadequate for self-defense. Unloaded guns are rather poor clubs.

Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee produced the Gun Safety and Gun Access Prevention Act (H.R. 257). Section Three in Rep. Lee's proposal would impose ten-year prison sentences upon firearm sellers if they have "reasonable cause to know" that their customers intend criminality. Section Four criminalizes the sale of a firearm without an approved security device. Section Five effectively forbids keeping a loaded firearm for self-defense whenever a child is present, much like H.R. 45. Section Six requires adult chaperones for minors at gun shows. Under Section Six (b)(8), the offending parent can be charged with child abandonment.

Since a defensive firearm must be kept loaded, and most homes contain children at least periodically, it's clear that Rep. Rush and Rep. Lee intend to abolish the use of firearms for personal defense. They also require dealers to be clairvoyant. To deny sales opens dealers to civil rights violations, while approving sales opens them to prosecution. It's a catch-22 for gun sellers.

Sen. Frank Lautenberg's Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act (S.1317) denies firearms to "dangerous" terrorists (is there another kind?). What Sen. Lautenberg has authored is a clever ruse. No one can argue that denying guns and bombs to terrorists violates the Second Amendment, right? Let's see.

Section 922A(1) of S. 1317 grants the Attorney General discretionary authority to deny access to firearms. The AG, under Section 922B(g)(1), can also withhold information used in the denial from the aggrieved party. Should gun owners feel secure if Eric Holder wields such authority?

What about Pres. Obama's stated respect for gun rights? Well, politicians will say just about anything to get elected. Obama is still on the record as supporting a ban on "assault" weapons. Furthermore, his administration is backing a U.N. treaty that would regulate the small arms trade worldwide. Don't scoff. The president can constitutionally enter such treaties under Article 2, Section 2. Said treaty would become law under Article 6, at least temporarily.

Inaction on gun control doesn't make President Obama a Second Amendment loyalist. Inaction doesn't mean that politicians and bureaucrats hostile to private firearms aren't at work. Gun-owners will benefit from a dose of extra vigilance now, even while the gun control waters appear still.

Elections Have Consequences

Yesterday's PR stunt on healthcare, which was supposed to be a bi-partisan summit, changed nobody's mind. In fact, dems are now concluding in many places that they were actually hurt by the whole exercise.

One of my favorite moments was Barack Obama insisting that he would not 'start over' because "Elections have consequences'. Translation? He's the President, duly elected. He ought to be able to get anything through Congress that he deems important. If the Republicans don't like it, he'll cram it through with budgetary reconciliation or some other parlor trick.

I agree Mr. Obama. Elections do have consequences. One consequence of the nation's collective insanity in 2008 was to elect an ill-prepared first term junior senator from Illinois to the highest office in the land.

Mr. Obama, I want to help reinforce your statement, and so do the American people. As a matter of fact, we're are all going to get together in early NOVEMBER just so we can help you understand the meaning of 'consequences'.

First Rule In Treating Disease: The Correct Diagnosis

In order to treat a disease, you have to correctly diagnose it. Here's Janet Napolitano, in another pathetic hand-wringing exercise on Capitol Hill:

WASHINGTON -- Americans who turn to terrorism and plot against the U.S. are now as big a concern as international terrorists, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday.

The government is just starting to confront this reality and does not have a good handle on how to prevent someone from becoming a violent extremist, she said.

In the last year, Napolitano said, she's witnessed a movement from international extremism to domestic extremism — cases in which Americans radicalized and decided to plot attacks against the country.

"What really is it that draws a young person being raised in the United States to want to go and be at a camp in Yemen and then come back to the United States with the idea of committing harm within the United States?" Napolitano asked without citing specific cases. "Where in that person's formulation is there an opportunity to break that cycle?"

One case is that of Najibullah Zazi, the Denver airport driver who has been charged with plotting to use explosives to attack the U.S.

Born in Afghanistan, Zazi had lived in the U.S. since he was 14 years old. In recent years, prosecutors say, he traveled overseas to receive training from al-Qaida.

Speaking to governors who are in Washington for their annual conference, Napolitano said this problem is one that needs to be drilled down and analyzed.

Napolitano was in a wheelchair Sunday because she broke her ankle playing tennis a few weeks ago, a Homeland Security official said.

John Brennan, President Barack Obama's homeland security adviser, echoed Napolitano's concerns about violent extremism Sunday.

Countering violent extremism is not just a federal issue, Brennan told the governors; it's something that needs to be addressed as a nation.

The White House hosted a meeting to discuss these issues Friday, Brennan said.

"There needs to be community engagement," he said.

Brennan pointed to a case from late last year when five young Pakistani men living in Northern Virginia traveled to Pakistan seeking training from al-Qaida.

The FBI learned of the missing men from their families. After the men disappeared in late November, their families, members of the local Muslim community, sought help from a non-governmental organization, which put them in touch with the FBI.

"It's that engagement with those local communities that's going to be the critically important mechanism to detect that radicalization even before they depart," Brennan said.

The government has been engaged in this sort of outreach for years. Homeland Security officials have periodic meetings with Muslim communities. And FBI agents in certain parts of the country regularly reach out to Muslim communities and leaders.

Umm, Janet, I think I have an answer for you. If you want to know what would inspire an American to become a radical terrorist who wants to train in Yemen for Jihad, all you have to do is look at the state of Islam in America. We have radical anti-western mosques and virulent muslim preachers of hate all over this country. Neither you nor any other person in this administration is taking these threats seriously because it's politically incorrect.

The answer is obvious to anyone who has correctly diagnosed the disease. Any mosque or Islamic leader here in the US that preaches any form of radical Islam is a threat to our national security. They need to be SHUT DOWN immediately. Arrests, deportations and a few high visibility perp walks would go a long way in sending the message that if you want to preach radical Islam, you have to do it somewhere other than the United States.

Numerous radical Islamic preachers and mosques exist here. Look at the Detroit area. Look at Virginia. These organizations are a DIRECT threat to our national security that is just as potent as an Al Qaeda training camp in the middle east.

But nobody in this administration, or the last one for that matter, has the political cajones to do what needs to be done.

Cause, meet effect. Wishing it were not so will not make the problem go away.

Last night's LIE on Larry King was one of the biggest LIES he's ever had the dishonesty to spew.

"I am very optimistic about Iraq," he said. "I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration."

"This" administration? Ummm...you mean George W. Bush's administration you lying sack.

You OPPOSED the surge. Obama opposed the surge. In fact you both repeatedly called it a failure. Now you have the unmitigated gall to say it's an achievement of YOUR administration?

How did serial liars like this ever get elected? How in God's name can a majority of the American public have voted for them?

They Just Can't Help Themselves

Excuse me CBS, but just what the hell does this have to do with football? It's Super Bowl Sunday for God's sake.

I don't want to hear about his plans to continue to shove socialized medicine down our throats today. There's plenty of time to talk about that tomorrow.

Obama Gets One Right

I'll admit it. More than 99% of the space I use here is devoted to pointing out how misguided and wrong-headed the Obama administration is. It's just that it's so easy. This administration has provided anyone with a constitutional perspective with a very target rich environment. Wrong on defense. Wrong on social spending. Wrong on healthcare. Wrong on fiscal policy. It goes on and on and on.

Yes, I am an ideologue. My ideology is constitutional constructionist. I admit it. I filter pretty much everything that is going on in politics through the sieve of the constitution. If it doesn't pass muster, I call it out as the danger and threat to our republic that it is.

Just because I'm an ideologue doesn't mean I cannot give credit where credit is due. Just to prove detractors wrong, here goes: The Obama administration has just approved an arms sale to Taiwan -- a move that really pisses of the Chinese communists. Hurrah! Even the most inept of presidents can finally get something right. This is a re-affirmation of our support for the imperiled free Chinese people.

A woman in Florida is fighting a doctor and hospital because when she was pregnant, she was forced to stay in the hospital (the doctor urged a judge and he agreed). The doctor urged the judge to involuntarily admit her and force her to stay there because she smokes, and the doctor feared it would harm the unborn child.

OK. Let me get this straight. Don't smoke, because you might harm the child. You can ABORT it if you want, but just don't smoke.

SEIU In TOTAL Denial

No, Denial is not a river in Egypt. It's SEIU President Andy Stern. His reaction to last night's crushing blow to Obamacare is truly shocking. This man has no grasp of reality whatsoever:

Service Employees International Union President Andy Stern said the vote should be a "wake-up call" for Democrats that "now is the time for bold action."

"The reason Ted Kennedy's seat is no longer controlled by a Democrat is clear: Washington's inability to deliver the change voters demanded in November 2008. Make no mistake, political paralysis resulted in electoral failure," Stern said.

I for one hope Obama and the dems follow his advice. It will GUARANTEE a Republican majority in both the House and Senate next year. Brown's election may not change the political landscape, but that surely will.

Brown Defeats Coakley

In what has to be the most shocking defeat for Dems in the last 50 years, Scott Brown (R) has just been elected Senator for Massachusetts, defeating Martha Coakley (D), and claiming Ted Kennedy's seat for Republicans for the first time in more than 5 decades.

BUT........

Hold your horses, Republicans. If you think for one minute that this means the end of Obamacare, you've got another think coming.

Obama is a true believer. His world view requires...no demands..... that he stay the course on socialized medicine, because that's his core belief. The opinion of the American people does not enter into it for one minute.

Bill Clinton learned from the disaster of 1994, and moderated his positions, clearly moving to the center. "The era of big government is over", as he put it. He could do that, and be comfortable with it, because Clinton was not a true ideologue, but a pragmatic politician.

If there ever was a true ideologue, Obama is it. He will simply not be able to bring himself to moderate his position, because he believes that is morally wrong. He simply knows what's best for us, and our opinion be damned.

I also expect some Senate shenanigans in the meantime, and a desperate attempt to cram this through before Brown is seated.

To my mind, none of these events will be a bad thing. It will simply insure an even greater landslide for Conservatives come November. Get your tickets now. It'll be a helluva show.

American Thinker asks an excellent question today: Why Do the Dems continue to cram unpopular legislation down American's throats, despite their plummeting poll numbers? Don't they know they are setting themselves up for a crushing defeat?

Well, not so fast. Dems do everything for a reason. Their agenda to subvert our form of government may have just hit one of it high points. It's called "Universal Voter Registration". Yes, they're trying to cram that through as well.

Universal voter registration is nothing more than a slick moniker for massive voter fraud. It will result in millions of illegal aliens being registered. It will result in convicted criminals being registered. It will result in millions of people being registered who don't give a rat's ass about the political process because they are too busy collecting their welfare checks. Once these type of people are automatically registered by law, it will be a simple matter to stuff the ballot boxes and the voter registrations will check out-- at least on paper.

If Universal Voter Registration gets passed, Dems will have absolutely nothing to fear from an angry electorate. Every legal law-abiding citizen will be immediately disenfranchised, and the way we choose our leaders will be nothing more than a cruel joke.

And for those of you who still think that the Dems have no innate desire to subvert the electoral process, may I point out the hundreds of recent cases of voter fraud they have perpetrated? Ever heard of Al Franken?

I have come to the conclusion that liberalism is actually not a political philosophy, but a sign of mental and moral problems.

I believe one big reason that liberals so despise conservatives, is that by their very existence, they point out the morally bankrupt and socially irresponsible nature of their opposites.

When faced with facts, history, and demonstrable outcomes, liberals will throw all caution to the wind and say who cares? We'll do it our way.

In a nutshell, liberals think that it's government's job to guarantee results. Conservatives believe it's government's job to guarantee opportunity. Results are strictly a result of character, initiative and dedication.

Liberalism believes life should be "fair". Conservatism believes life should be just. Guess which side history is on? Guess which side God is on? You could look it up.

To those who doubt this premise, a simple question: If Liberalism does not indicate a moral failing, how do you explain Ken Jennings? You know the one. Obama's "safe school" czar. The one who advocates sex between men and boys. The one who contributed to books teaching little boys how to "fist" their sex partners. Don't know what that is? I won't explain it.

That's the title of a new article, courtesy of Accuracy In Media. It's a good question. O'Reilly fancies himself an independent, a populist, a protector of average folks, and a man of the people. Sometimes he is. Other times, he is the most exasperatingly ignorant man on TV.

On nearly every episode of the Factor, O'Reilly repeats what is to me a very tired mantra: "I want to be fair". This statement betrays an underlying flaw in his approach. What flaw? The belief that in any political issue, both "sides" have good points and bad, and that to be "fair", you have to give them each their time. Nonsense. It isn't about sides. Both "sides" may be flat wrong. Besides, if you can distill down any political issue to what the DNC, RNC, Liberal or Conservative talking heads, or the White House thinks about it, you have missed the boat entirely.

Right is right, and it can never be wrong. Wrong is wrong, and it can never be right. The rules of logic and common sense were laid down thousands of years ago, and they survive to this day. If a politician espouses a position that is just flat wrong, a true man of the people, a true populist exposes that error -- that lie -- for just what it is. He does so with no sugar coating.

Sadly another nasty habit is for O'Reilly to pronounce judgment without having all the facts. Case in point: Global Warming. First, the science is not even settled as to whether global warming is even occurring, depending on the time frame you are willing to examine. Second, if one were to concede that some form of global warming did exist, the case for it being caused by man is extremely flimsy. Third, since climategate, those of us who knew the theory was based on junk science and outright lies have had their opinions confirmed. Did any of this matter to O'Reilly before he pronounced us skeptics "idiots"?

Phil Kerpen has an excellent article on Fox forum today that can be found here, detailing Carol Browner and Lisa Jackson's attempt to trash the US economy. Cap and Trade shows no signs of passing. Climategate punched more holes in an already shaky theory based on junk science.

No problem for Browner and Jackson. Just declare "greenhouse gases" pose a serious threat to public health. Bingo! Now you can regulate America into oblivion, and the people have no say. Not even the congress has a say. Nazis. Hacks. Lowest of the low. Nevermind that there is no such thing as a greenhouse effect. Nevermind that global temps are going down, and have been for more than a decade. Nevermind that so-called global warming has nothing to do with man, and everything to do with the cycle of the sun.

The president's decision to attend the international climate conference in Copenhagen needs to be reconsidered in light of the unfolding Climategate scandal. The leaked e-mails involved in Climategate expose the unscientific behavior of leading climate scientists who deliberately destroyed records to block information requests, manipulated data to "hide the decline" in global temperatures, and conspired to silence the critics of man-made global warming. I support Senator James Inhofe's call for a full investigation into this scandal. Because it involves many of the same personalities and entities behind the Copenhagen conference, Climategate calls into question many of the proposals being pushed there, including anything that would lead to a cap and tax plan.
Policy should be based on sound science, not snake oil. I took a stand against such snake oil science when I sued the federal government over its decision to list the polar bear as an endangered species despite the fact that the polar bear population has increased. I've never denied the reality of climate change; in fact, I was the first governor to create a subcabinet position to deal specifically with the issue. I saw the impact of changing weather patterns firsthand while serving as governor of our only Arctic state. But while we recognize the effects of changing water levels, erosion patterns, and glacial ice melt, we cannot primarily blame man's activities for the earth's cyclical weather changes. The drastic economic measures being pushed by dogmatic environmentalists won't change the weather, but will dramatically change our economy for the worse.
Policy decisions require real science and real solutions, not junk science and doomsday scare tactics pushed by an environmental priesthood that capitalizes on the public's worry and makes them feel that owning an SUV is a "sin" against the planet. In his inaugural address, President Obama declared his intention to "restore science to its rightful place." Boycotting Copenhagen while this scandal is thoroughly investigated would send a strong message that the United States government will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices. Is Huckabee Toast?

So now that this pathetic piece of filth Maurice Clemmons has been found and shot dead -- after murdering 4 police officers in a cowardly ambush at a coffee shop, alot of questions remain.

He had many enablers. His family helped him elude capture after the murders. They intentionally lied to police and obstructed the investigation and manhunt. They provided him with food, money, cell phones, medical treatment, vehicles and hiding places. Police are rounding up the scumbag family as we speak. (as a side note, can't you just wait to see Sharpton, Jackson and every other race-baiter come out of the woodwork to defend this guy's 'family'? Oh Joy) The Washington court system was also totally incompetent. They let him out on $15,000 bail last week on a child rape charge.

The one enabler that I want to focus on right now however is former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. As you no doubt have read, this thug had his lengthy prison sentence commuted by Huck when he was Governor of Arkansas back in the year 2000. Huckabee has released statements, blaming the prosecutors in Arkansas, blaming the parole board, blaming the courts, and only to a small extent, blaming himself.

My problem with Huckabee is that I think it's clear that his judgment was clouded in this case, and in many other cases, by his religious beliefs. He has a history of granting clemency to violent criminals who reoffend after they are released. Clemmons is just one example. In fact, Huckabee granted clemency or pardons to more than ONE THOUSAND convicts while he was governor, including a dozen or so MURDERERS.

Why did he grant such clemency in many of these cases? Because the criminal claimed a religious conversion and a changed life, and Huckabee wanted to give them a 'second chance'.

If a criminal does have a religious conversion and a change of heart, I'm happy for him. But what does that have to do with justice?

A Bible verse comes to mind, since I'm on the subject of religion and how it influences Huckabee's judgment:

Proverbs 25:2 -- It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.

What does that mean? Quite simply it means that God is in the sin forgiving business. Kings, rulers, Presidents and Governors are not. They are in the prosecution and punishment business. It is to their honor, glory and credit to "search out a matter"; to find the truth, to punish the wrongdoer, and to do justice.

When a ruler (or a Governor) mixes up his role with God's role in a just society, that society ceases to be just. Pastors would often call Huckabee while he was Governor, begging for clemency. Often they actually got it. They knew just what buttons to push. It might sound harsh to some, and it may be a case of oversimplification, but I believe that when it came to criminal justice in Arkansas, Governor Huckabee had a hole in his head.

C'mon Mike. Going on O'Reilly last night and whitewashing what really happened might help you convince some, but the bottom line is that this scum would still be locked up in an Arkansas prison, and those 4 Police officers would still be alive, were it not for your decision to grant clemency, over the vehement objections of the prosecuting attorney's office, and the victims of his crimes.

There's gonna be alot more fallout from this. If Huckabee is going to be able to salvage his Presidential hopes, that's going to take some serious dancing. I for one think he's toast.

Just heard Bill O'Reilly defend his treatment of Huckabee on last night's show, basically saying it wasn't Huckabee's fault, because he only commuted this guy's sentence, and others paroled him. Besides, O'Reilly says, the guy was 16 when he committed those crimes. Since he was paroled in Arkansas, he has committed multiple felonies and violent crimes as an adult and the Judges and courts that kept paroling and releasing him should have known better. Hey Bill, that's a logical fallacy. It makes it WORSE NOT BETTER. ALL THE CRIMES he has committed as an "adult" would have been PREVENTED if Huckabee had not commuted his sentence. HE'D STILL BE LOCKED UP IN ARKANSAS BILL! Here's a clue to you and to Mike Huckabee, Bill. Just don't commute sentences. Just don't do it. There's a reason these violent criminals are sentenced to lengthy prison terms. They're just too dangerous to set free. Why is that so hard for you to understand? No Spin zone? Please.

Now defenders of this commutation are pointing out that he got a sentence of 108 years for robbery, which was excessive, and all that Huckabee did was commute it to 47 years. LIE! He got what was 'in effect' a 108 year sentence because he was convicted of MULTIPLE violent felonies, some of which he was sentenced for concurrently, and some of which he was sentenced for consecutively. The "net" was 108 years. He would have been out around 2015. Ummmm.... that's 4 or 5 years from now. Those cops would still be alive. The other multiple crimes he committed since his 2000 release in Arkansas would not have happened. The original Judge and Jury got it right! This was an extremely violent and unstable thug who belonged in Prison -- not on the streets to commit his atrocious crimes again. You cannot spin your way out of this one Mike.

Police, FBI and other law enforcement agencies have just completed a mass arrest of 32 gang members who targeted white men simply because they were white. Most of those who they attacked were also robbed. The police chief in Denver never warned citizens of these racially motivated attacks, but simply warned of an upsurge in robberies in the downtown area.

There are many reasons why a President's approval numbers drop, but in this case, the reasons are obvious to anyone with enough intellectual honesty enough to see them. This President's campaign was long on style, but short on substance. Once the star loses a little of it's sheen, a President has to actually govern. He has to lead. Hype doesn't cut it anymore. In Obama's case, he assured us, time and time again, that he would lead -- and do so from the center.

What did America get instead? The most radical leftist President in US history. It's an easy cliche to say that "all politicians lie". While that may be true, the difference here is in degree. I cannot think of any former President whose rhetoric during the campaign was so completely opposite of his actions as President.

Jackson has always confused race and political philosophy. Why? Blacks are forever victims in Jesse's world. Medal of Honor recipient Bud Day Speaks of Torture

I got shot down over North Vietnam in 1967, as a Squadron Commander. After I returned in 1973 I published 2 books that dealt a lot with "real torture" in Hanoi. Our make believe president is branding our country as a bunch of torturers when he has no idea what torture is.

As for me, I was put through a mock execution because I would not respond. I was pistol whipped on the head. A couple of days later I was hung by my feet all day. I escaped and a couple of weeks later, I got shot and recaptured. Being shot was OK, what happened afterwards was not.

They marched me to Vinh, put me in the rope trick, and almost pulled my arms out of the sockets. They beat me on the head with a little wooden rod until my eyes were swelled shut.

The next day they hung me by the arms, rebroke my right wrist, wiped out the nerves in my arms that control the hands, rolled my fingers up into a ball. They only left me with the slightest movement of my left forefinger.

So I started answering their questions with some incredible lies. They sent me to Hanoi strapped to a barrel of gas in the back of a truck. In Hanoi, on my knees, the rope trick again, followed by a beating by a big fool.

I was put into leg irons on a bed in Heartbreak Hotel.

I got a really bad beating for refusing to condemn Lyndon Johnson.

Several more kneeling events. I could see my knee bone through kneeling holes.

There was an escape from the annex to the Zoo. I was the Senior Officer of a large building. Because of the escape, they started a mass torture of all commanders.

I think it was July 7, 1969, they started beating me with a car fan belt. In first 2 days I took over 300 strokes and then stopped counting, because I never thought I would live thru it.

They continued day-night torture to get me to confess to a non-existent part in the escape. This went on for at least 3 days. On my knees, I was beat with the fan belt and cut open my scrotum with a fan belt stroke. They opened up both of my knee holes again. My fanny looked like hamburger, I could not lie on my back.

They tortured me into admitting that I was in on the escape and that my 2 roommates knew about it.

The next day I denied the lie. They commenced torturing me again with 3, 6, or 9 strokes of
the fan belt every day from about July 11 or 12th to 14 October 1969. I continued to refuse to lie about my roommates again.

Now, the point of this is that our make-believe president has declared to the world that we are a bunch of torturers, and thus it will be ok to torture us the next time the enemy captures an American, because that is what the USA does.

Our make-believe president is a know-nothing fool who thinks that pouring a little water on someone's face, or hanging a pair of women's pants over an Arabs head is TORTURE. He is a meathead.

I just talked to Medal of Honor holder Leo Thorsness, who was also in my squadron, in jail, as was John McCain, and we agree that McCain does not speak for the POW group when he claims that Abu Ghraib was torture or that "water boarding" is torture.

Our president and those fools around him who keep bad mouthing our great country are a disgrace to the United States.

If it got the Arab to cough up the story about how he planned the attack on the twin towers in NYC, hurrah for the guy who poured the water.

Patterico has excellent analysis of the Supreme Court's overturning of the 9th Circuit on a recent Death Penalty case.

The murderer, Fernando Belmontes, broke into his victim's home and beat her to death in 1981 with a dumbbell, bashing in her skull and mangling her body beyond recognition. He stole her stereo, sold it and used the money for beer and drugs for the night. The 9th circuit's reasoning in overturning the death penalty was that the victim did not "suffer needlessly".

I don't even know what to say to that. It took me several minutes to wrap my mind around it. Astonishing! Blinded by anti-death-penalty ideology, the 9th has lost any semblance of sanity, integrity or honor.

Who Is Behind The "Media Reform" Movement?

And to Mr. McChensney: You decry the fact that conservatives have plenty of people to listen to on talk radio, and bemoan the fact that liberals have very few. (You don't want liberals, but socialists like you...but that's another topic)

Lemme tellya why that is, you clueless wonder. TV is not primarily a thinking man's medium. It's visual, and often appeals to emotions first, and intellect second. Radio on the other hand, requires you to engage the brain and not the eyes.

Liberalism is devoid of common sense, appealing primarily to the emotions and not the intellect. It can only be pushed to the American people with emotional pleas and demagoguery. Conservatism has it's roots in common sense and rational thought. It's really hard to appeal to the emotions on radio, without the help of added visual stimuli. You have to engage the brain. People reject liberalism in a radio format, plain and simple. Have you never asked yourself why liberalism fares much better on TV?

If your dream of the "fairness doctrine" is reinstated, it won't make liberal radio succeed -- but simply make conservative radio fail, by requiring stations to give liberalism equal time on the air -- air time that will be devoid of listeners and make the shows economically nonviable.

But that's been your goal all along, eh?

An Open Question To Liberals

"Do terrorists captured on a foreign battlefield have US Constitutional rights?"

Careful. If you answer no, then you must concede that Holder's decision to try them in US courts is a completely illegal travesty and has no basis in law or precedent.

If you answer yes, then that begs another question: Exactly where would those rights come from? Hmmm? C'mon, I know you can come up with something. Please cite the appropriate articles of the Constitution you base your answer on. Please cite precedent as well. What's the matter Libs? Cat got your tongue?

Let me make it easy for you. Both Obama and Holder know there is absolutely no legal or historical basis for trying these terrorists in civilian criminal courts. They know that -- but they simply do not care. As astonishing as it may seem, it's nothing more than another feeble attempt to poke a finger in the eye of a man who hasn't been President for almost a year. How petty, foolish and disgusting this is. I cannot think of any single decision by any US President (yes, it's Obama's decision, not Holder's) that is more utterly unconstitutional, harmful to our standing in the world, and destructive to the role of our armed forces than this one.

But then again, you have a chance to prove me wrong, my misguided liberal friends. I await your answer.

Eric Holder - A Disgrace

Eric Holder just announced that the 5 9/11 co-conspirators would be removed from GITMO annd tried in civilian court in lower Manhattan. I can't even begin to tell you what a travesty, and what a slap in the face to the 9/11 families and victims it is.

In making this decision, Mr. Holder has now politicized 9/11 even further. In his blind desire to take another shot at the Bush administration, and to continue to wipe out the "war on terror", Holder is hurting thousands unnecessarily.

How can a civilian court try these terrorists? In a military tribunal, for enemy combatants captured on the field of battle, wartime rules apply and rightfully so. There are dozens of immediate problems raised by attempting to make this a civilian matter. For example, here are just a few issues off the top of my head:

Rules of Evidence - How was it obtained? Was waterboarding used? In civilian courts, that would be considered coercion.

Chain of Custody - What was the chain of custody of the evidence? In civilian courts without a clearly established chain of custody, evidence is thrown out.

Due Process - Any good civilian attorney will argue that due process was not observed here because these terrorists were not given legal counsel until years after they were captured.

Jurisdiction - How did they come into US custody? US soldiers are not law enforcement officials. By what legal authority in US civilian courts did these people become detainees in the first place?

Miranda - Here's a biggie. These terrorists were not mirandized because they have no rights in US civilan courts when captured in a war by US soldiers. Not so, says Holder. How can any of the evidence obtained after their capture be allowed at trial when it violates US civilian court standards against self incrimination?

Discovery - This could take several years. Also, much if not all of the discovery would be either sensitive or Top Secret information. How can you form a civilian jury and have an open trial when the vast majority of the evidence is classified?

I could go on and on. What Holder has done here is at the specific behest and authorization of Obama - make no mistake about it. This presidency is fast becoming a total disgrace. These men are monkeying with basic right and wrong. It may take decades to undo the damage.

If you are not motivated to throw as many of these bums out in 2010 as possible, I don't know what will motivate you. This is a total travesty that should not be allowed to stand.

Arkansas Injustice

The man who brutally assaulted and beat to death the beautiful and talented TV anchor Anne Pressly, Curtis Lavelle Vance, was sentenced to life in Prison today instead of receiving the death penalty.

The rationale? He had a "hard life". All you need to know about what's wrong with our justice system is to analyze that argument. Lots of people have had a hard life. Many have had a much harder life than this piece of garbage Vance. Yet, they don't go around beating women to death in their homes.

The death penalty is provided for those cases that are atrocious, heinous, brutal and aggravated. This case fits all of those definitions.

Juries lack common sense. I have been summoned for jury duty several times. Each time I've been immediately disqualified because in the voir dire, it's clear they are looking for lemmings and not real people with common sense. Give an honest answer and watch how fast you are dismissed.

Anne Pressly's mother said it best when she spoke to the defense lawyers after the verdict was read: "You protected someone who should never have been protected".

My rationale for the death penalty for these type of crimes is simple. God gives life. He's the only one who has the right to arbitrarily take it away. When you murder, you directly usurp the role of God. The penalty is forfeiture of your own life. Period. And please, no arguments about how the death penalty is not a deterrent. It's called a PENALTY, not a deterrent. The purpose of a deterrent is to prevent. The purpose of a penalty is to punish. Besides it is a deterrent in the killer's case because anyone executed will never do it again.

When you look at heinous crimes as cases that must be cured rather than criminals who must be punished, all hell breaks loose. God help our society.

Why Ft. Hood Happened: PC Run Amok

This guy did everything except carry around a bullhorn and a neon sign saying he was going to kill people for Jihad. The Army's reaction? Ignore it and it'll go away. Here's Gen. Casey on the "tragedy":

“I’m concerned that this increased speculation could cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers. And I’ve asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that,” Casey told CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” whether Muslim soldiers are conflicted in fighting wars in Muslim countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, Casey said: “I think that’s something that we have to look at on an individual basis. But I think we as an Army have to be broad enough to bring in people from all walks of life.”

“Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse,” Casey said.

Lets look at these asinine and incompetent statements. First, this has nothing to do with a backlash. TAKE CARE OF THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES General! To hell with concern for a backlash. If one occurs, deal with it at the time. You seem awfully ready to assume there will be a backlash. How come you weren't ready for an attack when this guy warned of one repeatedly???

Second, OF COURSE you have to look at whether muslims are conflicted about fighting in Afghanistan or Iraq on an 'individual basis'. Too bad that never occurred to you in this case.

Third, this was an act of Jihadist TERRORISM. It WAS NOT a tragedy. A tragedy is your house burning down. A tragedy is a fatal car accident. A tragedy is a plane crash. This was terrorism. You have revealed yourself General. You are a product of the modern military. In order to get those 4 stars in today's Army, apparently you have to drink so much PC Kool-aid that you are liable to float away. Damn! No wonder this happened. Until and unless our military leaders can recognize and call things by their proper names, expect alot more of these "tragedies".

Lastly, you actually said that cold blooded and savage murder of those soldiers at the hands of a muslim terrorist is not as "tragic" as a possible loss of "diversity" would be. Oh My God. I cannot even wrap my mind around what a PC, nonsensical and silly statement that is. Are you actually saying that things like this can't be helped because in order to prevent them you might sacrifice a liberal buzz word???

Fort Hood - Latest In A Long Line

In the wake of such a horribly evil event at Fort Hood, I want to make sure I measure my words carefully. I must admit that my emotions are running pretty high right now, and I might say something I didn't think through beforehand.

Having said that, here is my measured response. Islam is incompatible with peace, justice and democracy, and is therefore incompatible with peace loving people across the world. Brash and insensitive perhaps, but there's my opinion.

Why do I believe that? Do Christians go all over the world with guns and bombs, blow themselves up and kill randomly? No. Do Jews go all over the world with guns and bombs, blow themselves up and kill randomly? No. Do Buddhists? No. Do Hindus? No. Do Hare Krishnas? No. We are not talking about isolated incidents. There are always a few nuts in any religion. No, we're talking about the commonplace. Why muslims?

Here's my take. The world has yet to come to grips with the core of the problem. For example, if I devote myself wholeheartedly to following the precepts of Judaism or Christianity, I become a more devoted husband and father, a more loving and kind person, more patient, more forgiving, a better worker, a better citizen, and simply a better person. In short, the religion brings out the best in me. On the flip side, if I devote myself entirely to the precepts of Islam, as specifically laid out in the Koran, none of these things occur. The more devoted I become, the more intolerant I become. The more hateful. The more angry. The more determined to stop the infidels. This will inevitably lead to violence.

I grow tired of the world arguing that terrorists have "hijacked" one of the world's "great religions"; a religion of "peace", and are giving it a bad name. No they are not. They are practicing Islam to the hilt. When Allah speaks, they obey.

Until the world comes to grips with this fundamental, albeit politically incorrect fact, innocents across the world will continue to suffer at the hands of these murderous savages. Once the world does recognize the problem, the question is, what to do about it? Almost a third of the world practices this 'religion'. The reformation or dissolution of this cult will be a herculean effort, requiring nothing short of a miracle. In the current world political climate, and particularly with this President, miracles are hard to come by.

Do you think for a New York minute that adherents of that political philosophy or members of such a political party would be enrolled in the United States Armed Forces? That the United States would encourage political organizers for such a party to have official establishments on American military bases, in American prisons, or on the campuses of government-supported American universities? That the American president would go out of his way to coddle, praise, stroke, and conciliate such a political party?

But if you call such a political movement a "religion" and say that its tenets were given it by its God, then you'll be free to infilitrate, subvert, and attack our American way of life, again and again and again.

There was no madness at Fort Hood. That was just the worldwide jihad in action.

The madness is in Washington.

It is past time to recognize that whether or not you want to be at war with the jihad, the jihad is at war with you.
